Q:What Compression garment should I wear following a Tummy Tuck?

A: It is possible that you may experience some swelling after a tummy tuck procedure and this can be eased by wearing the correct compression garment. Compression girdles and bodysuits can be a good way of ensuring that your skin heals properly and eases any swelling and discomfort.

Q:How long should I wear my compression garment after a tummy tuck?

A: If using a high quality compression girdle or compression bodysuit from Simaslim, we suggest wearing it through the day and night for 4-6 weeks after your tummy tuck operation. These garments are scientifically designed to target compression right at the areas affected by surgery and are made with special patented fabric which makes recovery after an operation as comfortable as possible.

Q:How long does it take to recover after Liposuction?

A: After Liposuction the area of the surgery is likely to be bruised and sore for approximately 14 days. You should be able to return to your normal daily routine once you feel comfortable.

Most people can return to light work within days of having the liposuction procedure, but wearing a Liposuction Compression garment will help you to recover more comfortably. Compression garments can help reduce swelling, pain and bruising which can occur after liposuction.

Q:What Compression Garment Should I wear after Liposuction?

A: Class 1 medical device stage 1 (4-6 weeks post-liposuction) compression garments designed to wear after your procedure include male and female bodysuits, These garments are designed to cover all areas of liposuction including abdomen, thighs, arms, and chest. You should wear these garments 24 hours a day, during recovery, and only remove for showering. Check with your surgeon what they recommend in their clinic in regard to post operative showering, generally surgeons would recommend wearing the compression garment at a minimum for the first 48 hours following surgery without showering. It is recommended to buy 2 garments, one to wash, and one to wear.

If unsure of which garment you require, or how to wear it effectively, ask your medical professional which one would work best for your procedure. Be sure to use the measuring charts recommended by the compression garment company to obtain the correct and most comfortable garment to help you recover in comfort.

After about 4-6 weeks, Stage 2 compression garments come into their own and are designed to maintain the body’s compression. The design and style of stage 2 recovery garments are less surgical, ( without zips for example ) comfortable under clothes, easy to wear and will help complete your healing journey.

The type of garment for you will be dependent on your procedure and your medical professional’s recommendations.
